Deposit to be paid on an item if credit allocated
I opened an account at an Exact store in Paarl. The account was approved with a credit limit of R3990 limit. I went to purchased a cellphone on the 09-02-2016 and I was told that I need to pay a 30% deposit. My argument is, why must I pay a 30% deposit if a credit limit of R3990 was already allocated to me?

The response from Fochini's customer services department stated that I am a \high risk\" customer, thus the deposit of 30% percent. Nowhere in the credit contract does it states that Foschini Group can ask for a deposit on any item. Whats the use of having credit if an individual must pay a deposit?
The price of the item that I wanted to purchase was in the range of R1500 and the store asked me to pay a R500 deposit. The consultant showed me that my profile indicated a 0% deposit.

If this is the case, then I would like to know where in the contract does it indicated that a client must pay a deposit on an item, whether its a \"high risk\" client or \"low risk\" client. Since when does companies label customers as \"risks\"?"
