Three consecutive failures on pre-built PC
Purchased a pre-built PC, and across a few months, the CPU and SSD drives all died a few months apart, the CPU dying three months after initial purchase, and the SSD’s three months after Evetech replaced the CPU. And now, I’m having serious graphics issues; multiple times a day, the display will crash without warning, and only way to bring it back is to hard reboot the PC. The supposed reason for the first two failures according to Evetech was that they were 'faulty components,' and when I questioned how this could be, the essence of their response was that these kinds of things ‘just happen.’ From what I have heard from IT professionals who have heard this story, this kind of failure is unheard of. After both repairs, I was assured by Evetech that it was fully tested and everything was completely fine before they sent it back, especially the last time, but it has been less than a month, and I’m right back where I started. Either my graphics card is faulty as well, the new SSD’s they put in are causing the same problem as the last batch, or a mystery third component is broken that is causing this. I have followed all their advice, and they have no further help they can offer other than repairing it a third time. It is deeply troubling to try and use this PC as a work computer and feel constantly unsure when the next thing is gonna break. Oh, and this drama has eaten up my refund period, so I’m stuck with it. I have not had a great experience with Evetech and I don’t have a lot of confidence in them as a supplier; either they have in my case issued a collection of faulty components, or they are not equipped to identify a fault that is causing their components to fail. Sure, it could be just my luck that I bought a PC with a bunch of accidentally bad parts all in one place, but I don’t think that’s the case.
