Our Evetech Experience - Horrible!

Beware of Evetech. Do not say you were not warned!

RED FLAGS EVERYWHERE. RUN!!!

If you need customer service stay away. If you want to order built units then stay away. If you build your own platforms and have tons of time to spare while you wait indefinitely for your goods to arrive then I guess they are mediocre at best. Clearly the cheapest prices come at a cost and in Evetech’s case, that cost is integrity and customer service.

We have run an IT related business for 15 years and ordered hundreds of PC related things from multiple suppliers. We have never experienced such a terrible result from any service provider. We will NEVER use Evetech again and I strongly urge you to avoid them at all costs. The small change you save with Evetech is quickly evaporated by the schlep of dealing with their customer service and reliability on what you buy.

I now have the perception that they think customer service is a joke and after reading that my experience is not unique at all, they seem to relish in the bad press with a “FU/Deal With it” attitude towards frustrated clients.

Evetech took significantly longer to have our good delivered in CT compared to what they promised us on their order confirmation. This resulted in a cancelled client order after we paid for the goods, a loss of a hard earned reputation and loss of income.

They never answered their phones. Not once in 6 attempts over 2 days. We eventually just gave up. I now imagine that this is a deliberate tactic. Instead our calls consistently went straight to an automated answering service even though it was mid-morning on a working day.

All our enquiry emails seeking feedback were met with a canned email response telling us of their standard delivery times. These responses were all received at least 48 hours after sending them.

In this case, we ordered two dell laptops along with another PC and a great monitor. When we booted the laptops for the first time and eventually managed to get to the desktop, the laptops were clearly running incredibly slowly (i3, 7th gen). Upon checking the task manager, BOTH HDD’s were running at 100%. With one of the laptops, if you held your ear to the bottom you could clearly hear a high pitch scratching sound from the HDD. These were brand new laptops.

We decided that after our ******* delivery and communication experience with Evetech, that sending the HDD’s back to them would be an even worse experience and decided to replace their faulty “brand new” HDD’s with SSD’s. This change resulted in a much higher price which means we could have just ordered the same from Frontosa, Mustek or any number of suppliers or even, heaven forbid, Take-A-Lot, and get it in 3 days. In hindsight, we would go this route before ever ordering from Evetech again.

When opening the laptops we identified that both the laptops had been previously opened (brand new laptops). a) there were fingerprints on the cover and chassis and the chassis *****s were claerly unfastened before and we can only surmise that they opened them up and replaced the HDD’s with faulty ones most likely under the assumption that we would not want to deal with them. I acknowledge that this is speculative at best, but perceptions are perceptions, and this is not our first rodeo on replacing HDD’s.

To make matters even worse, upon checking the DELL service tag status’s and driver updates, we discovered that the laptops only had 16 and 10 days left on the Dell service warranty which should have been 1 year from date of purchase.

Beware of Evetech. I am putting my experience down to a 20k lesson to learn that Evetech are not good at all when it comes to delivering customer service or per-built units. DO NOT order fully built PC’s or laptops form these people. Only order parts and build yourselves if you have the patience to wait unjustifiably long wait times in our modern age.

EVETECH!!!! NEVER AGAIN. SIES!
