Unsatisfied Customer

Good day

Last year 21 September 2015 I took my television set to Eurovision in Founders Hill for repairs, on the same day I took another television unit to a reputable company In Midrand for also a repair.

A week later I was contacted by Eurovision sales person Mduduzi and advised me of a quotation amount of R3800 of which I rejected the qoute and told him that I'll be collection my television set. In the same week I was contacted by the "other" company that i mentioned and they gave me a qoute of R1000 of which I gladly accepted.

I was then contacted by Mduduzis boss who told me that the best price for the repair they willing to do for me is R3500, of which I also rejected. Knowing of my financial circumstances that was still going to be to high for me. His boss spoke to me ill mannered and sounded like he was threatening me over the phone telling me that if I do not accept the qoute and take my television elsewhere for the repair to be done, I should not come back to him as he will charge me more then what his offering me now.

Both my television sets where sent in for repairs due to lightning that had occured the previous week before I had sent them for repairs.

Due to my financial inabilities and constraint's I could not collect both my television sets from the repaireres for a long time (close to a year to be exact).

Early this year I was contacted by Mduduzi again asking me when am I going to collect my television set from Eurovision as they where in the process of cleaning thier shop and wanted old items out, I then told him that they cannot throw away my television set which costed me close to 15k to purchase, and one of their T&C's stipulates no 4) In case of quotation rejection, Quotation rejection fee of R460 is payable.

I did not have money for a long time and been struggling to make ends meet just to survive.

On the 6th of July 2016 I managed to visit the other repairer which charged me 1k to repair the other set of television and paid the agreed amount in full and came back home with my tv which is now working properly with no issues.

Today 17 August 2016 I contacted the store (Eurovision) wanting to advice them they can carry on with the repair for the television set as I am know financially ready to go on with the repair. To my surprise I was told by Mduduzi that my television set has been defrayed and that I can no longer get it back, I then advised him there I nowhere where I signed which stipulates that all television sets brought in for repairs and not collected will be defrayed. One of the T&C 's I read which I still have a copy of only stipulated that no 7) Repairs not collected within a three month period will be sold to defray expenses without notification.

My argument to him was that the T&C that I signed to does not say Television Sets that are brought in for repairs and quotation rejected by customers will be defrayed if not collected in three months. And for that reasoning only I would like to be reimbursed with with new television the size of that one with same features if not similar or close to.

My Job No. for this television set is 1161 and the unit brought in was a JVC 60" Smart Plasma TV Model: PD-60N920

Further more I would like to take this opportunity to thank hellopeter for giving consumers a platform to write thier reviews.

Regards

Lehlohonolo Segoana
