Wretched and appauling Service from Europcar Cape Town Airport

I have had nothing but a run around with Europcar. I rented a car 27/04 until 03/05 a total of 7 days (Ref ********** 63) an amount of R5662.60 was reserved on my credit card for the transaction. The calculation that was advised to me was 220.35 per day and was advised that the difference over these days would be refunded. Total amount held on my CC was R5662.60 with an excess of R2640.40.

Further to this I took delivery of the car with no one who did an inspection with me and found a pre check already done in the car. On delivery of the car, I asked the gentleman if there was anything I needed to do, he inspected the car and said everything is fine and I could take my flight.

Days later I received a call from Europcar stating that there was damage on the front bumper. After advising in writing as well telephonically that no incident took place whilst in my possession , I was told I was responsible which I took responsibility for although very unhappy. I just needed the balance of my money to be refunded as I needed the cash urgently and still do.

Be that as it may , my understanding was that they would take the excess from my deposit and refund the difference.

My calculations are as follows 220.35 x7days= R1542.45 (rental amount) and R2640.40 (Excess) this means that the difference would be R 1479.75. I at this stage haven’t been refunded anything and have been advised that I will not be refunded and owe an additional R121. Please can someone contact me to explain this calculation in more details so that I can understand this, as the Europcar at Cape Town Airport have been less than helpful. I called on multiple occasions with no real feedback, and have called the call centre and spoke to Carike and she advised that this hasnt even been processed so no amount could be confirmed! I have had communication from Boniwe via e-mail who I can never get a hold of when I call. After several attempts to speak to the manager, eventually spoke to Jaco Van Molendorff who is the manager has not gotten back to me via e-mail or contacted me as he advised he would. My experience has been nothing but a nightmare!!! Please assist.
