Unproven Damages

I’ve been in contact with Europcar regarding charges for damages that Europcar cannot prove occurred during my use.I have been pleading for a response to no avail.

I have asked to see the in detail pictures of the motor vehicle when it was checked out, as in detail as the pictures as when it was received. The pictures of the video footage of the motor vehicle when checked out does not show anything. I want definitive proof that the damages were not there when the motor vehicle was checked out.

There was no one to check the car with us upon check out. Why was due process not followed? The vehicle is always checked upon drop off so why was the same process not followed upon pick up? How can we be held liable for this?

Upon signing up for the vehicle there is no direction/link to the terms and conditions on the car voucher confirmation. The car voucher confirmation does state that the rate includes excess amount in the event of damage/loss. Nowhere does it state that this amount will be over and above the deposit amount.

In addition, it took over an hour to receive the car from the time we arrived at the offices, which was apparently due being unable to process the payment due to bank issues. These issues were not on our side as we had used the bank card not long before, we also confirmed with the bank that there were no issues. The process is not flexible enough to use another bank card without a fee or flexible enough to even accept cash. What do customers do in these cases when they are in a hurry? We are not reimbursed for this inconvenience.

I requested payment to be reversed until such a time that Europcar can prove that these damages were not present upon check out to no avail. I have asked for the legal departments contact details – and I received no response either.
