Unfair Treatment

I hired a car from europcar, I took a car from rand airport branch, I noticed the wheel cap that one clip was broken when i wanted to fill up the tyres, So I used the car because i thought it was a small thing unfortunately the wheel cap was blown off by the wind when i was driving, when I returned the car at OR Tambo International Airport I informed the inspector that the wheel cap is missing he noted down and he inspected the car all around he said everything is ok beside a missing wheel cap then he gave me the paper to sign I signed, When i called to ask that when are they going to return back my deposit they told me that there is a claim of a car damage that is missing wheel cap, Rim damaged and front bumper scratch, I was shocked because the car was inspected in my presence and the guy he said everything is ok beside missing wheel cap and they said I signed on the paper with all of those damages I took this as a ***** because i signed the paper with a missing wheel cap only, Now they told me that I have to pay an excess amount of R3000.00 which is really unfair because I never got any accident because when i took a car they told that I will pay that excess if i got accident or if the car is ******
