Stop trying to de***** me
After my last Europcar rental, they tried to convince me that they managed to refuel a car I had already refueled at the entrance to the airport to the tune of just short of R100 (despite me leaving the slip in the car). Following the threat of ******** charges (this is ***** after all - a ******** act) and a demand to see proof of chain of custody of the vehicle, they reversed the charge.

So I gave them another chance. This was clearly a mistake.

This time I did not refuel the vehicle, so I expected a refueling charge, and accepted that I would have to pay R15 as a service fee. However, they allege to have added R99.50 worth of fuel - which equates to 7.46 litres. I had driven a Chevy Spark 35km (as reflected on their invoice). The given fuel consumption for the combined cycle for this car is 5.8l/100km (some road tests prove it's even lighter), which means I would have driven out 2.03 litres during my (predominantly highway) trip.

Let's be generous and say I could have conceivably doubled the fuel consumption. That would still only mean 4.06 l I would have consumed, yet Europcar still say they added almost double that to the car?

Nothing short of *****. Stay away.
