Shocking looking at the Hellopeter reviews on Europcar.
On the 15th of January 2022 I hired a vehicle from Europcar. The vehicle was dropped off with the front grill loose. Which is clearly marked with pencil. I insisted that the Europcar representative mark the damage on the VEHICLE QUALITY CHECK - George from Europcar Klerksdorp made comments and marked the loose grill part of the handover process. Vehicle Quality Check No: ***. He mentioned that by him marking this, Europcar is aware of where the damage is on the vehicle. The Vehicle dropped off with only 400KM left on the tank - car driven from Klerksdorp to my location +- 85KM but Europcar in return wants a full tank of fuel. I let that slide knowing the vehicle never had a full tank of fuel. Vehicle license disc expired on the 30th of January 2022, tried numerous times getting this resolved, again to no avail. Spoke to Lucky from Klerksdorp to arrange the new disc (no follow up call or update). On the 14th of Feb after returning the vehicle on the 12th of Feb, I received an SMS claiming damages. With proof of a Vehicle Quality Report on hand by Europcar Klerksdorp acknowledging the damage/loose grill with comments and marking the lower bottom of the bumper on the vehicle sketch I'm told that I damaged the car. Clearly this is a misunderstanding from Europcar Klerksdorp to Europcar Braamfontein. I called Thuli the branch manager from Klerksdorp - all I was told, " I'll chat to George".
Shocking to see the ********* behavior of Europcar. A representative clearly marking their OWN vehicle quality check report is not good enough. The client DOES NOT fill the report but a representative from Europcar. Ultimately he is responsible in filling the VQC. The client only signs when he/she is happy that the representative has filled and disclosed any previous damages on the vehicle and is drawn or marked on the VQC.
This was the exact case when George marked and mentioned to me that he is aware of the loose grill on the vehicle and his marking it on the VQC.
Can this misunderstanding be cleared as this is unprofessional and iniquitous.
I am also escalating this matter to my insurance company, broker & relevant stakeholders with immediate effect. I will not be held responsible for malicious tactics.
