****!!! Wrongfully accused of damaging a Vehicle

Oh the 21st of December I rented a car from Europcar. After filling in forms I was given a set of keys and told a parking bay number and floor where I will find my rented vehicle. I arrived at the PARTIALLY LIT and dark parking bay and drove off. On the 22nd I returned the car in the exact manner in which I found it, and the gentlemen at the CSIR Pretoria branch noticed small scratches on the right fender of the vehicle. I explained that the scratches were not created during my rental. Instead of understanding what I was saying they loaged a claim against my name. Billing me of OVER R6500 for damages I had not caused. I went back to OR tambo Europcar and spoke to the supervisor Rowan Kellerman, who told me a pre inspection was done, and that I was meant to inspect the car prior to driving off. I explained to him that I was not informed to inspect the car at pick up, and there was no way I would have seen the scratches in the poor lighting of their parking lots. This so called inspection was not conducted thermally, and the \inspected car"was left in a dark parking lot with no surveillance"
