RIDICULOUS EXCESS ON CLAIM
On 7 Oct 2015 we rented a car from Europcar at King Shaka Airport. We were upgraded from a Polo to a Avanza and we signed a Super Waiver. On 8 Oct we went to UShaka Marine World and parked in the designated parking area, and when we came back to the car we noticed that the hubcaps had been ******. I immediately phoned the emergency number for Europcar, and was put through to the King Shaka branch. The call went unanswered twice. Upon returning the car we notified the attendant that the hubcaps had been ****** and we filled in a notice about the theft.

This morning we received an invoice for R3 017,97 for the excess of the claim for the hubcaps. I phoned Toyota spares to find out how much original Toyota hubcaps cost and I was informed that it costs between R446 and R630 each, ie R2520 at most.

Why sign and pay for a Super Waiver? And why does Europcar make no effort to safeguard the hubcaps themselves (cable ties etc)? And when we inquired if we can supply the new hubcaps we were informed it was too late, the claim had already been submitted. This feels like ******ion.
