Problem after problem

I am a frequent traveller and mostly rent cars from Europcar. My experience has always been a good one. But what happended over the past few days really disappointed me. I collected a car from the Randburg branch on Friday the 10th of June around 13:00. When I walked into the office there were a number om staff members - all looking down at their workstations. Not a single one acknowledged my presence. I finally asked if someone could help me.

I was given an Audi A3 sedan. As I drove off I noticed that the steering wheel was skew. I contacted the Randburg branch, who then arranged for me to collect a vehicle from OR Tambo. This time I received an Audi A3 sportsback. The vehicle smelled strongly of cigarette smoke and ash particles were present on the dashboard, seats and carpets. I drove the car for 2 days, but as I am not a smoker and the smell remained overwhelming requested another vehicle. The Randburg branch delivered a BMW 3 series to my office yesterday. I drove about 500m when the vehicle gave a warning that there is a problem with the drivetrain. I could also feel the vehicle had limited power.

My PA spoke to Pindi at the Randburg branch this morning. She wanted to replace the vehicle with a Ford Fiesta. This is not what I have booked in the first place. According to my PA Pindi then proceeded to say that obviously there is a problem with me as I am unhappy with all of their vehicles. I am offended by this statement.

When one rents a premium vehicle this is really not the treatment and attitude from staff I expect. I have asked them to collect the vehicle and have now rented from a different company. I am fairly certain that I will never support the Randburg branch of Europcar again.
