Poor Service, Poor communication
On the 11th Feb 2019 I hired a car from Tempest, and returned it on the 15th of February
I received an invoice on the 17th of February that the total cost was R1663.69 ( paid with deposit) and no excess amount due.
On the 16th of June 2019 ( 4 months later), I receive an email stating that I owe R188.30 ( REF ***8), from europcar debt collectors.
When asking for clarification for what the amount is for, I get told that I should Refer to "bank statement."
I once again ask for clarification, and more detail, As the statement they sent says that I owe the amount for a " Customer service discount"
The debt collector then chose to ignore my further emails asking for clarification.
She then has the audacity to log my email as a registered communication certificate, to prove that they informed me of this debt ( still not sure what it's for)
I refuse to pay this amount, until the debt collector who was emailing me, finally replies, and clarifies my shortfall in payment, with an updated invoice Showing my initial deposit, and what my excess charge is for, not an invoice just stating " Customer service discount"
I am out of the country for an extended period, she can email me as she initially did. I will pay the amount, when I get details for what it's for
If the debt collector refuses to contact me, I'd like to request a reference number to take this matter further with the ombudsman
