No debt please

Hi there! So in January 2017 I rented a car, cute, comfortable thing (VW POLO Sedan) on my boss' name. The service upon receiving the vehicle and handing it back was good! I almost felt a sense of pride driving out and being able to get to the places I needed to get to.

Returned the car all happy, grateful for the month I had it while trying to buy my own vehicle.

We noticed a bump on the back. I have no idea what happened or how it happened. I am very cautious when using someone else's vehicle.

It was a light little scratch on the bumper. They said it's fine they will follow up, but they can claim from insurance. I wrote a disclaimer saying the above. All was fine.

In May I started receiving calls from debt collectors. So I emailed Europcar. No response. Emailed every person I could possibly find. Suddenly a response just sending my email back and forth between different departments. I emailed again saying that I still haven't had a response. Then a +/- R5000 invoice came through in NOVEMBER only (The Invoice was dated in March and they said they sent it. I would have seen that!! I take it seriously, come on).

I told them that I am not happy with the way things were handled and can someone please phone me urgently so I can sort out the account. Nothing. I emailed the whole thread of people again. No response. I have all the email threads dating back to when this started.

DebtTec started phoning again this week. And this is when I was informed that an extra R23 is added to my account for every phone call I receive. And that my bill is now somewhere close to R8000 (received this msg about a week ago). It's October 2018. Seriously? Seriously. I work part-time and study so this is not an amount I want to owe anyone.

I asked the DebtTec guy numerous times to phone me at a certain time, they never did. We're all busy right? PLEASE can I have a call from someone (NOT customer service, they have been quite useless in all my efforts).

This has been one of the most stressful events in my life up to this point as I am not a believer in having ANY debt unless for a home/car loan. I have been super anxious about telling my partner about the sleepless nights I have endured over this. He was shocked when I eventually did tell him. As a matter of fact... I should be claiming from Europcar for this trauma. This tumultuous event has me reeling. I am done. Done worrying, done with the sleepless nights.

Help me. Please someone. Help.
