Lies, Bad Service, Customer put in Danger

I booked a car with Europcar via their online platform on the the 17th of December for pickup at Europcar Sandton on the 30th of December at 9am and return on the 4th of December. The car I booked is in the class that has automatic and all wheel drive. I arrived at Sandton Europcar on the 30th of December at around 09:05am, my Uber trip can confirm this. I got there, did the Admin and was told that the car that was ready for me had an issue with its battery and there has been a car dispatched from the Marlboro depot for me and it will take a few minutes. The car arrived at around 09:55am. So I had to wait 50 minutes for it. The story gets worse as the day progresses. The car that arrived is a front-wheel drive automatic and the condition on this vehicle is just horrible. The carpet for the boot is not the original carpet for the vehicle and doesn't fit, the boot lid rattles and the Guy delivering the vehicle comes out with jumper cables. I'm in a rush to get home and start my trip for a 5 days vacation to Dullstroom and then Hoedspruit. I take the car and go home to get my luggage. I have already expressed my dissatisfaction to the Lady who assisted me at Europcar Sandton. She says they will call OR Tambo and see if they can exchange the car. I then drive the car home only to find out that the steering wheel has significant play and the cars alignment is actually off, then worse the vehicle itself is severely underpowered. I get home and in the process of loading luggage from the house and from my own car I am calling Europcar to get an update on the OR Tambo option. The first Call Centre Consultant actually hangs up on me while transfering me, the second one called Given transfers me to the Sandton Branch. Please note Given as I speak to him again later on the same day. Anyway, the Lady at the Sandton Branch tells me that they have been trying to call OR Tambo and no one is picking up the phone. So being an hour late now for my trip, I decide to go to OR Tambo myself and see if they can help me. I get to OR Tambo and no one has called from Sandton to sort this issue out. I get to OR Tambo and there are cars available for me exchange, plenty of them. Now I'm about 1h30 minutes late for my trip. Not only was I given a car which has an issues with its wheel alignment, I have also been **** to. Anyway, OR Tambo give me a decent vehicle. The story continues. About 45 minutes out of Dullstroom I get a puncture, so I jack the car and replace the tyre with the spare. Then drive to the nearest petrol station. I call Europcar again and run into Given on the call. I tell given that I got a puncture and need to get a new spare wheel, I ask him what my options are Mind you I have taken the windscreen and tyre cover, I have paid for it. Given says to me the option is to drive to the nearest branch and get another car. He tells me this knowing my story in the morning well, I had to repeat it to him. The nearest branches are Emalahleni which is 133kms from my destination and Nelspruit which is 187kms away from my destination. I am already 2 hours late from my Vacation at that time, traveling with my Wife whose safety is of major importance to me. Getting another puncture is not an option knowing the issue of roadside ******ies in South Africa. So I cannot afford to drive without a spare tyre. I tell Given that I will repair or replace the tyre myself of which he tells me Europcar will charge me for the tyre. I ask him how seeing that I paid for tyre cover which is on my quote, he says it's not there. I tell him I have the quote infront of me. He puts me on hold and comes back to tell me that I am right. He doesn't even apologise for getting this detail incorrect. So again I ask him, can I replace and repair this spare tyre at my own cost. He tells me that he needs permission and transfers me to his Supervisor. I hold on the line for over 10 minutes and get to a Guy who isn't his Supervisor. I speak to this Guy who transfers me a Manager and tell her the story of my day. She promises to get a Driver to deliver about car to me in the morning of the 31st of December. Now it's the morning right now and I'm going to wait for her call, if I don't get a call by 10am today I'm going to drive to Belfast which is 30 minutes from Dullstroom and repair or replace the tyre. When I comeback from my vacation on the specified date, I will simply instruct my attorneys to deal with this matter and insist on a full refund. Why? 1. Because Europcar **** to me. 2. They didn't deliver the class of car that was expected (yes I know the "or similar" story). 3. Europcar gave me a car that was out of wheel alignment. 4. Europcar delayed my vacation my 2 hours. 5. Europcar put my Wife's safety in jeopardy. All in the space of about 4 hours.
