Inflated damages, charged credit card without permission

I have been working with Europcar for the last 4 years, doing short term rentals at different cities.

On the 24th of April I rented a car in Cape Town for 6 days in Cape Town. I parked overnight at Green Point and the car was broken into. They opened the boot at took some belongings although they were not visible from the outside, they just took a chance and broke the back window. I took the car to Europcar after getting a SAPS case number and they told me they would block R3000 and sort out the window and gave me a new car.

I received an invoice today for R5300 for the window replacement and they charged my credit card for it without asking. This is completely ********* since the damage was not because of an accident and the value is blown out of proportion. I had a similar problem with my car early this year and the replacement window was R750.

Very dissapointed. Won't use Europcar in the future
