I wonder why Europcar sits on everyone's deposit for an extended period?
If I could give zero stars, I would. It is now 17 days since I returned the vehicle to Europecar and although a statement was issued on the 24th of April by Europcar stating that R 11514.63 is due back to me from my deposit they have still been unable to effect the return of the deposit to my credit card.

Good day
Thank you for your email, we trust the following finds you well Please be advised that due to the claim that has generated against the rental invoicing and refund has been delayed
Please allow 21 working days for the claim to be finalised.
We thank you for your support
Regards,
Now NOTHING takes 21 days in this day and age, I have a suspicion that Europcar purposefully holds onto clients' deposits in order to draw as much interest off it before repaying it. By doing this they are 1.) causing clients to incur additional charges on their credit cards and 2.) drawing interest off money that is technically not theirs. If Euopcar is going to insist on this behaviour the deposits should be paid back with pro-rata monthly interest. Herewith begins my social media campaign against Europcar.
