Given and unreliable car and then blaming me

We hired a car on Thursday night at 7pm. Firstly they hadn't done a thorough check as we had to call the gentleman back to show him scratches on the car that they had not marked. <br> <br> We drove the car 45min and once we had reached the offramp we realised that when you take off in first there was a rattle. We didn't think much of it as we assumed that we were given a reliable car. We also did not want to be inconvenienced to drive back. We didn't think it was a big deal as we weren't going to be using the car over the weekend. <br> <br> On our way back to the airport we realised how bad the rattle was when you were taking off in first... we realised that its best we tell Eurocar of the issue so that they don't pass on the car to someone else in this state. The rattle just got worse and worse. <br> <br> It appears that the exhaust was lose which was causing it to scratch and now they blaming us saying we scratched it by hitting a rock etc. She has been the most unfriendly rude lady to deal with. <br> <br> We were good people for bringing them to the attention that the car was damaged and now they blaming us???
