**** Fuel charges

Year ago rented a car in Cape Tow. Before returning I filled up the tank by the petrol station at the airport. Then, few days later got an invoice where they were charging for fuel and refuelling service fee. After fighting and having to send the copy of slip (which one normally throw away) they cancelled these charges.

I then thought it was one off mistake. I was wrong! Just got back from Cape Town and rented the car with Europcar again. And after refuelling and returning the car… what happens? Got the invoice with same charges of last time: Fuel + Refuelling service fee.

Conclusion? Europcar tries to take money from the customers at all cost. It will surely be the last time I rent a car with them. The stress is not worth it the “cheaper” rate they offer!

By the way, this time, after returning the car and confirming with consultant that was all in order (no damage or scratches) they sent me a msg saying they missed a scratch in the side mirror and I needed to fill the form assuming the damage.

After back and forth of emails they withdrew the claim!

So… stress at highest level when renting from this company.
