Friendly caution when dealing with Europcar!

Just a friendly piece of advice to anyone collecting a vehicle from Europcar to be extra vigilant when signing for the vehicle and the charges.<br> We recently collected a vehicle at the Heathow branch, and inadvertently signed for additional insurance excess waiver which somehow found its way onto our account.<br> At the time of booking, I opted for and paid in advance for additional cover, but ended up being billed for even more additional cover which came to more than the value of the car hire itself.<br> Having queried this with the Eurpocar customer service, the charge remains, with an explanation that I must have willingly opted for this as I signed for it! End of discussion as far as they are concerned.<br> <br> It's a shame that a large company such as Europcar would rather lose a client than be prepared to exercise some reasonable discretion in situations like this.<br> <br> I recommend that any tired and frustrated traveller take EXTRA CARE when dealing with this company.
