Falsely accused of hail damage

I rented a vehicle with no issues during my trip, no hail, no bad weather, and no visible damage at any point. Days after returning the car, I was suddenly accused of causing hail damage. The company sent me vague photos with no clear evidence of any damage and failed to provide any real explanation.

After I pushed back and requested proof, they eventually closed the claim without explanation — no apology, no clarity on why the claim was made in the first place. It felt like a baseless attempt to shift blame and charge me for something I didn’t do.

I’m grateful the claim was dropped, but the way it was handled was unprofessional at best and borderline shady. I won’t be using this service again and I’d advise others to take time-stamped photos of their rental at pickup and return, just in case.....
