Europcar shoddy service
I received a bill from Europcar for the amount due R 854.25 for a damaged tyre. Rental agreement number: ********** 79 - Document number: ********** 9. This was surprising to me for 2 reasons. Firstly I never book the car, the car was booked on my behalf by Telesure, secondly, I was not told I'd be liable for a car booked by an insurer that was apparently not insured. I sent Europcar an email saying: Please be advised that I was not informed of my liability by any party. You can not retrospectively request payment for something you never explained to me. On the day I was asked to sign a document. The document was with another clients name and details. I wasn't asked to read it. I signed it. I was then told it was a mistake and I must sign another document here and here. It was not explained how I was made to sign someone else's document in the first place. But clearly, no one was paying attention. When given the second document I was just told to sign. They have completely ignored this and continue to send the bill. The amount is not the issue. Its the after the fact explaining liability and shoddy service which led to this which i will dispute on as many platforms as possible.
