Europcar Oribi Airport

I rented a car for pickup at 9am the Oribi aiport on Saturday the 28th of January. Because of flight delaiys i was late for about an hour and a half or so for pickup, I was kind of impressed when I received a call proactively asking me if i was still fetching the car and i said yes but was running late. Twenty miinutes later i arrived at the aiport and the kiosk was vacant. I called out hello a couple of times...after a few minutes i could clearly hear the door at the back closing so i thought someone was coming in. Still no one came to the front desk. I called the number from which I received the call and it was ringing at the front desk. I waited for a good 15 minutes with no assistance. I eventually went to the back and found a guy with a europcar t-shirt and asked for assistance. He promplty went back saying he was going to get Nathi who would assist me. Five minutes later Nathi strolls in - no apology. when I ask why i has to wait long while he was away he says very arrogantly i said i was running late.

so he starts assisting me with the rental. I had rented a class A car via kulula using my vitality membership and i was quoted a deposit of about R1,7k. He then says he will have to hold a deposit of about R5,5k. I then asked why the amount was different from my quote? he just folded his arms and said he cant change it unless i have an invoice. I try retrieving the invoice from my phone and my battery dies. Luckily my friend was there so we called kulula and asked them to send invoice and luckily i asked for them to cc me on the e-mail. he still refuses to amend amount until invoice comes. I try and explain that we are running late already for a family event and ask him why he is not offering his phone seeing i am battling. He again arrogantly says I did not ask for him to help. Anyway i see we are going to wait forever for the invoice - i try reboot my dead phone and i see e-mail and forward it to his email box.

he eventually changes the invoice and takes me to the car which was full of unmarked scratches...took more time ticking them off. As i get into the car thhere are crumpled tissues and where you normally find complemetary mints there was some milkish liquid and another used tissue. I was running late so i just drove away - missed my aunts memorial service.

Never before have I experienced this type of service from any of the Europcar outlets.
