Europcar must be fair
On the 1st of April 2016 I rented a car from Europcar and returned on the 4th of April 2016. When I returned the car, it was discovered that there was some damage at the bottom of the passenger car door. Because of the nature of this damage it is not very visible while the door is open and can only really be detected while closed. This caused both myself and the inspector to miss this. The passenger door had been opened just prior to the inspection to place my jacket on the passenger seat. There was no paint missing from the damaged area and that the damage is located at the bottom of the door made it less likely for a reasonable person to have found this damage. I only drove the car twice, once to get to Southbroom on the 1st April, where it was parked in a private covered parking. Returned the car on the 4th April. There was no possibility of damage been caused without my knowledge.I can only conclude that this damage must have been caused while not in my possession. I have since been invoiced for the damage to the value of R7,435.80 and that is after they deducted the the amount for the rental, insurance and admin fee from my credit card. I have read of similar complaints
