EUROPCAR INFLATING REPAIR COSTS AND RIPPING CUSTOMERS OFF!!

I rented a car from Europcar on 1 march 2018 at OR Tambo and I dropped the car off at Lanseria on 5 March 2018. When I dropped off the car I was told that there was a problem with a car, there was a scratch on the rear passengers side. I accepted that and I was told to fill out a form as it was a minor scratch. Since the drop off I didn't receive any communication from Europcar and two days ago my credit card was debited R 2000 + R1200 above the R3700 deposit that I paid. My bill came up to almost R7,000. I received an invoice on Tuesday that shows that I was charged ( R3500 for damage liability+ R807 assessment fee + R967 for Claim admin. I do not understand why I was charged this much for a scratch that can be fixed for less than a R1000. And what make me angry is that Europcar has the audacity to deduct my money without communicating with me . And handling this matter like the car was involved in the accident, where they should have taken the car to the dealership and get the quotation to fix the scratch and avoid this process as if the car was involved in the accident. Clearly Europcar makes money out of this small incidents with the aim of ripping-off their customers. I will send this case to the consumer council and some organization that will assist me.
