Europcar harassing me for payment of damages

I rented a motor vehicle in April 2023. in Cape Town from Europcar and I returned the vehicle without any damage. Europcar now handed me over to an attorney indicating that there was tyre damage to the spare wheel of the vehicle. Although I indicated that I have three witnesses that can collaborate that we did not use the spare wheel. I also tried on numerous occasions to phone Europcar to resolve the matter but without success. The amount they claiming is just over a R 1000-00 but I refuse to pay as I did not damage the spare tyre.
