Europcar doesn't respond to my email!!
On Saturday morning 28/11/2015 I got into my hire car (Kia Rio) in Cape Town. I needed
to drive somewhere after just dropping my husband and 2 year-old son
at the house. As I got into the driver's seat, I realised I had
forgotten to give him the baby bag, so
picked up the bag, got out of the car (leaving the car keys inside the
car - not in the ignition), closed the driver's door, took the bag
into the house, and a minute later was back at the car ready to leave.
To my horror I realised that the car had locked itself automatically!

I was in a big rush as I had to go and fetch the bride who was getting
married that day, so I was extremely upset that your hire car would do
something like this. None of our cars we use at home behave in this
way.

I contacted Europcar, who said the car keys were in Johannesburg. Your
agent arranged a locksmith to come out and open it. He came within 20
minutes, and required R550 cash on the spot, which of course I had to
pay.

Due to the illogical nature of the Kia locking itself, I feel it appropriate that these costs
should be for the account of Europcar. Kindly arrange a refund.

Please get back to me regarding this ASAP!! It's been over a month!
