Do not trust Europcar with your bank card details
I have a problem with Europcar rental, I hired a car on the 28th of June 2019 until the 1st of July. The lady who was assisting me never explained certain things regarding tickets. I received an sms stating that I exceeded the speed limit on the 28th of which I can’t remember as I was driving according to the speed limit, but none the less I sent them an email asking that they send me proof of me exceeding the speed limit they responded by saying it will take two working days for them to send me and I waited but I did not receive anything and to my surprise they debited money from my credit card without my knowledge without them sending me proof of what they claim I did. What kind of a company is this because if I exceeded the speed limit I need to be sent proof so that I c where I exceeded the speed limit then they need to inform me, it means that they do not care about their customers all they want is making money without making sure the customer is satisfied with the proof they receive. How can u debit someone’s money without their knowledge, my credit card details are personal they can’t use them without my knowledge irrespective that I gave them the details while I was hiring the car, but if this is how they operate den I wouldn’t advise people to give their credit details to Europcar as they clearly not treating their customers fair. They telling me the clause is on the terms and conditions I asked the lady who was assisting me about the terms and conditions the is no where she says money will b debited without my knowledge. I am very upset with how they do business. I called them today and the lady said she will send me proof I don’t understand how come R310 was debited which speed limit charges that amount.
