Do not rely on Europcar

My rating and review is based on the fact that europcar does not have a proper assist service should you have a problem with a rental. after I misplaced a key and report it to their assist line, there was little to no assistance in recovering the vehicle and the agent I spoke with Elise basically stated that I was on my own and had to find a way to get the car back to them. After towing the vehicle back I was charged R5380 for a replacement key which is ridiculous. does the company not have insurance on their fleet or is it just a fly by night operation just note when hiring a vehicle from Europcar, that should you have a problem you will not be assisted and you will be charged exorbitant amounts of money. if your are on holiday in a city other than your own you will have to get assistance by yourself or those around you and not the company you expect to provide a proper service to you and your family.
