Damage Claim Dispute
I hired a vehicle from Europcar King Shaka on the 28/07/2015. Upon return of the vehicle the following day the Europcar rep pointed out that there had been an attempt to break into the car via the drivers side door lock. I had not noticed the attempt before.
I agreed that there had been an attempt to break into the car and filled out the incident report. On the 6th of August I received an invoice from Europcar for R 6920.17 for damage repairs. I then asked for supporting documents as to how they got to this figure. On further inspection of the estimate the bill included repairs to the right rear door, the right front fender and the right front door over and above the lock.
Today is the 12th of August and the money was taken off my credit card with no consent. I have been in touch with the claims department to raise my concerns and was referred to the KZN branch manager who is yet to get back to me.
