Cheated out of deposit based on false damage on courtesy car by Europcar meadowdale
We received a vehicle from Europcar as a courtesy car as our vehicle was being repaired by our insurer. I am disgusted by the level of service my wife received when returning the vehicle where she was forced to write an incident report as there was a claim of damage on the vehicle which did not occur and we were not aware of. The car delivers had black lines all over the vehicle which we were told was from the plastic wrapping over new cars that they removed. Today on 23/03/2023 I received an email with an invoice stating there is an amount due because of the damage. There has been no communication with Europcar Greenstone since we returned the vehicle on 14/03/2023 until now. We were expecting our refund by tomorrow 24/03/2023 as we were advised it would take 7-10 days. Is it a coincidence that the day before the 10 days is up we receive an email stating we have an amount due based on damages my wife disputed on the day we returned the vehicle. The damage was not caused by us and based on the reviews I've read it seems as if this is a norm for Europe car to fabricate damages to cheat people out of their deposit. I am not going to let this go. We have received no feedback on any investigation and my wife was told that they would check as the vehicle has impact alert. I would like to see that report that states that we had damaged that vehicle. I go far as saying how can a reputable insurance company like Auto and General use a service provider like Europcar that goes out of their way to cheat people. Surely there should be service level agreements with service providers used by insure ce companies. This is disgusting and I am definately not going to take this lying down. I expect a response from them or I will take this up further. Pathetic
