Charged R5000 for 2cm scratch on a car
On the 5 Feb I returned a car with a 2cm scratch (chip) on a bumper. I was asked to write a paragraph on a form on what happened and put my address and signature. To my surprise the bill came at R5000 and the form was **********ly completed by the staff member. When I queried I was told that the panelbeater decided to respray the car. When I was given this car the guy at dispatch told me the car is less than 5000km before defleeted (sold). So when i asked if this R5000 was fair value for a 2cm scratch and can they show me photos when I returned the car to justify their bill. I havent received them. Panelbeater is conflicted since his motive is to make money only showed photos that are not related to this. I ask them why there is no comparative price i.e. 2 or 3 quotes, there was no answer. So these repairs we touch-ups that Europcar was already planning since the car is being sold in few weeks. I have contacted their executive who dont see anything wrong instead wants to milk unsuspecting clients. I refuse to be used for profit gains by Europcar. I'm happy not to use them again. Its very unfortunate that trusted companies like Europcar take their loyal clients for ride.
