Charged R 11 851 over contracted amount

I was involved in a car accident while renting a car in Johannesburg. While I was in the ambulance on the way to the hospital, Europcar billed me the R 2 640 excess due (rental was on Super Cover). This was on 21 October.

On 27 October I emailed debtors at [URL Removed] requesting my invoice - only to be told that I could not receive an invoice until damage investigation was complete.I asked when I could receive the invoice. I got no reply.

Today I received an SMS from FNB informing me that Europcar has now taken an additional R 11 851 from my credit card. I was not contacted about this nor informed.

I have the quotation which clearly states that excess on Super Cover is limited to R 2 640.
I am in shock!

I called the Claims Department but they are unable to assist me, saying that this was only invoiced today so they cannot access any information.
I asked to be sent a copy of the rental agreement I signed, and was told it was being sent, but still have not received this.

I have never been treated in such a manner and want to know what right Europcar has to deduct funds off my card without any notification and for no reason! The quotation clearly states the Super Cover limits
