unfair policy and dissatisfied customer

Bought a pair of shoes and it was hurting me. The sales lady assured me it would stretch, so I went ahead and bought it. It still continued to hurt me so I took it back two days later and now they won't refund me cos it was on sale.i don't want a credit note and there is nothing in store within my budget. I want a refund. Please help!
