Eugene Marais Trauma Shame on You

I visited the trauma unit of Eugene Marais hospital in Pretoria with severe back ache on a Saturday afternoon. According to my medical aid, in an emergency situation, I should go to hospital immediately, get admitted and they will pay for the treatment. At the trauma unit though, the consulting doctor told me no she was not going to admit me, because according to her experience, Discovery will not allow the admission on the Monday morning and then I would have had to pay all the admission costs. So the doctor treated me, sent me home and I received an account for the treatment from the trauma unit. According to me my medical aid specifically stipulates that I should be admitted and the trauma unit ignored that and is now threatening to go to my employer to retrieve the money I owe them. I think that is appalling and they should be ashamed of themselves.
