Complain against Daven in the EMR

I am apselutetly flabbergasted by the behavior of a front desck consulten DAVEN who gave no mind to us nor give us attention. My wife and I had an 8 o'clock appointment for a mammogram, there was a elderly white couple in front of us and we followed to be assisted however there came another elderly white couple he emmidiatly grated them asked to assist them. Daven's behavior was passive resisim which to his eyes we were invincible. He claims to have not seen us. I believe that there are cameras monitoring and in that case they should be viewed to proof my claims.

Formal Complaint: Treatment of Deaf Patient

I am formally lodging a complaint regarding the handling of a deaf patient at the Radiology Department of Eugene Marais Hospital. The patient was left sitting in the waiting area for an extended period, unaware that their X-rays had already been completed. Staff re**** solely on calling out the patient’s name verbally, despite the patient being deaf. No alternative method of communication was attempted. No written communication was provided, nor did any staff member approach the patient directly to ensure understanding. This is not a minor administrative oversight. It reflects a serious failure to provide equitable and accessible healthcare services. Healthcare institutions have a clear duty of care to ensure that patients with disabilities are accommodated appropriately and treated with dignity and respect. A simple and reasonable accommodation such as clearly noting the patient’s hearing impairment on their file and ensuring visual or written communication would have prevented this situation entirely. The lack of such measures demonstrates inadequate procedures and a concerning lack of awareness among staff. I request that this matter be investigated and that clear protocols be implemented to ensure: Deaf patients are clearly identified in the system. Staff are instructed to communicate through written or visual means where necessary. Procedures are reviewed to prevent ************** or exclusion of patients with hearing impairments. This matter deserves urgent attention to ensure that no other patient is subjected to the same experience. I trust that appropriate corrective action will be taken.
