EthiQal medical insurance company - rogues

Hi everyone. I am a general surgeon in Durban and I had unfortunately taken my medical insurance with EthiQal. I was doing RWOPS and needed some cover for limited private practice. The Agent Jamal reassured me that I can start and end my cover as needed throughout the year, and because their premium was affordable, I went and started my cover. WORST MISTAKE OFY LIFE! Once I stopped doing my private work within that same year, I asked them to cancel. They said they need 6 months advance notice prior to cancelling and continue to debit me every month. They also said, and this is so worrisome, that once I stop my contract, if there are any medical issues that arise from the period that I didn’t have insurance, they will still not cover me unless I am active member. This insurance is a hoax guys please stay clear of this, you rather pay more for someone more reliable such as MPS etc. They are rogues and don’t divulge the fine print. Terrible, ********* behaviour.
