Shame on Ethiopian Airlines

On my travels to UK from Cape Town via Addis Ababa airport I had duty free items with me. On arrival at 12pm that evening at Addis Ababa the check in security insisted that I hand over my Duty Free, something that I have never ever been asked to do at any transfer check at any airport I have travelled through. I asked why and they just ignored and took my items from me saying I must collect them the other side. As per my suspicion when I got to Heathrow the items where nowhere to be found. I put in a complaint at Heathrow and then received an email saying the goods leaked??? and that I was to be refunded. I have called numerous times and I have emailed baggage and customer service and to this day all my attempts have been blatantly ignored. No email response whatsoever. this is a warning to anyone considering using this airline that the behaviour of confiscating Duty free items is possibly a **** in my opinion given the ************ I felt at the check in point. Shame on Ethiopian Airlines for admitting the items where broken in their care and not doing the honourable thing and refunding me, even after so many emails.
