Very Poor and Disappointing Service From Ethekwini Plumbers

I had a huge water bill from Municipality . I called ethekwini plumbers to detect where the leak was . They wanted R2000 paid upfront . We paid . They sent their guys out . They spent 15 min . Then left because of drizzle . Next days a new set of guys . They guessed the leak was under the car park. Quoted a further R3000 to run surface piping . The most untidy job i've seen and worker who come without the appropriate tools . I have pics. Then we had no water . They said they were 100 % certain that there was a blockage in the pipe running in the roof . They requested a further R2600 to sort that out . At this point I asked them to pack up and leave . I called a plumber I used for previous 20 years Sthembiso Plumbers . ( they were not available when I called them previous ) they came and were shocked at the workmanship of Ethekwini Plumbers . They identified the leak was actually in the outbuilding below foundation . And promplty sorted it out for R3500 . Neated up all the mess and connected us back to water . After reporting this to the owner at Ethekwini Plumbers - he agreed that his workers were *********** that the surface piping was unecessary . after much arguments he refunded R1000 . He said hed like to keep the balance for their time and material. Very sad that people operate this way .
