loss of power due to negligence of municipal workers
at the early hours of the morning on 20th April, there was a water pipe that burst at the cnr of redfern rd and jadhuplace. The leak was fixed on the 21st in the afternoon. The men who were digging to sort out burst pipe apparently damaged my house (18 redfern road) power cable and left. Ever since, I have no power and it's gone 3 days since my complaint but nothing has been sorted as yet. All of my freezers n fridges foodstuff have thawed out and most of them gone off. my electronic gate has lost its battery power. I have an 86 yr old mum who requires light in her room as well as in the passage to be left on throughout the night to avoid her having a fall. We are fasting and have a real battle preparing something to eat in the dark during the early hours of the morning. Repairmen came on 22nd and just changed a fuse and left without fixing the problem, hence I'm still without power. We are being put through a lot of inconvenience and bearing losses due to municipality workmanship. I request the municipality to please sort this problem asap even of it means putting a temporary power cable until the underground one is sorted as we are being inconvenienced for days due to municipal workers negligence in damaging our power cable. Why should we be placed in the queue to have the repair done when the damage was caused by ethekwini municipal workers??? N Moosa ***
