Horrific & Disgusting customer service (Estoril Books The Glen)

The manager at this store is horrific & disrespectful !!

Nathan Oyeduko's attitude and way of handling customers is disgusting!!

I was there on Sunday 25 Aug 2024 at around 13:00 to find a birthday book for my father in law

Upon my arrival I went to the religion section where there was 2 books (one black and another green , same zip look and feel)

Both these books has an American price and bar code on the the back that said $21.99 , the black book had a very faint sticker on it with a south Africa price of R285.00

I took both of the books to the till assuming that the price for the black one will obviously be the price for the green one .. the lady scanned the green book which I settled on and it came to R485.00 - we then questioned how they are differently priced but the barcode and American money for it was the same the teller then told us we work with south African bar codes and Rands (I know this I am South African by the way) so instead of arguing with her we said its fine can we then rather exchange the green book of 485 for the black one of 285 - this is when she called Nathan.

Nathan came to the till and we explained to him that we would like to exchange the book for the cheaper one and that we don't understand the pricing issue - to which he had the same answer as the lady "that we work with Rands and not dollars" , in the same breath he said that the south african prices is in the book then proceeded to go though the book to find it... but there was none.

So we said that that makes no sense because the bar code that was just scanned on the green book is an american bar code - so if your american prices which for both books are the exact same is invalid then that bar code should be too right? but they used that very barcode to scan the book. Nathan did not like my response to this and started getting really irate and yelling.

I got annoyed at the way he was speaking to us and said that I don't have time to argue over ****, I would like to exchange the book.

Nathan then got extremely loud and disrespectful , literally yelling at me telling me I'm rude and a whole bunch of other things (check your camera's) - this is when I decided that I don't even want the black book anymore and I told him because of the way he is acting I would like to get a full refund on the book now.

I probably told Nathan more than 50 times to refund my money , while he is loud , yelling , looking to other customers to somehow justify his actions, I was not even arguing with him I just told him I want my money back and to refund me - he would not do this upon my request and kept yelling until I said that if I do not get my money back I am going to make a scene which he responded to and said "Fine make a scene" - and look here we are...

You can check all your camera's and speak to all your staff regarding this incident - it was absolutely disgusting and unacceptable and honestly just drags Estoril books name through the mud.

I spoke to another manager from Estoril Fourways to address this issue and he was very kind and understanding of my situation - THANK YOU SIR!

As for Nathan Oyeduko - my guy you don't even sound south african but you want to educate someone that is born and bred south african on their own money - Go play somewhere else please!
