SOLD STOCK ON DISPLAY WITH WRONG PRICE TAG
I went to pay my lay bye on Friday the 25th at Essops Eastrand. I then decided to buy a rug marked at R1 199 and requested master guard to be done. I was informed that there is company which does the master guard so I can only fetch the rug on Monday which i agreed . I was told the rug will be marked SOLD so that we will not resale. At the till point as I was about to pay the lady assisting me called his colleague and asked him to check the barcode as it is scanning a different amount . The guy went to where the rugs were and came back only to tell me that the rug was sold. I asked how can it be sold when it is on display and also why is it not marked sold as they were going to mark mine after payment. They said they forgot . I then asked why you display stock which is sold. I told the two who were assisting me that I think they made a mistake with the price tag and if that's the case I understand but they insisted to say no it was not a mistake. I then asked how much does it cost according to them after scanning and I was told R1 999. As a customer I have a right to get that carpet at the marked price as the rug was on display. I have phoned the head office with no avail. I will be promised that someone will call back and no one does. On the 28th I managed to speak to a lady called Lucia who requested me to send a pic of the rug on whatsup and she never came back to me. I send her whatsup mesages and she only read but does not respond. I have been a good customer at Essops and was very disappointed as they were very unprofessional .
