When they aren't ignoring you, they're lying to you.

I joined Essential Med about 6 months ago. When I signed up, I specifically told the sales agent Bradley, or whoever, that I was only wanting to leave Ocsacare because my daughter couldn't be on it. And I specifically asked about the waiting periods. I was told, the waiting periods wouldn't apply to me, I just had to send a letter from ocsacare. So I did, cancelled with them and made my first payment to Essential Med. And want do you know, I now had waiting periods, after my money was taken. I was told some ridiculous story about how the "system" wouldn't be able to handle that. As in giving my daughter a waiting period and not me. I was angry but I let that one slide. It wasn't a big deal, I wasn't dying at that moment. Any way, a few months go by and I think, hey, they're okay, I've been to the doctor 3 times, and no issues have come uo, let me up my plan, that also goes smoothly, they send me a form to fill in, I also change my banking details (eager beavers always ready to take your money). And then, my daughter got sick. Really sick. It's a public holiday, I call in, like there's no doctors I know of open today, plus my kid's in pain, this looks like a hospital emergency room thing. Oh now, Miss Joseph, you haven't paid. Come again? Ok, I work in this kinda industry too, someone says they did pay, system doesn't pick it up (after 30 days wth kinda system is that. ) But okay cool, I can send you my bank statement, I need to take her now. Give me your email address. Oh no, we're just an outsourced company taking calls for them. For them? We're not actually essential med. Oh perfect, a call centre company. I didn't ask, just assumed. Useless to say the least, or a total lie. If it's really an emergency, go to hospital, pay cash, and claim it back. A plus for empathy and soft s****s. Congratulations on being an outstanding human being. Because we'll pay you back. I'm sure you've picked up on my sarcasm by now. Because honestly, what a sham. And then the wonderful supervisor says what can the medical aid commission do to use. We don't fall under them. Who do you fall under? No answer. And then you have it. A company, that takes money from people and isn't held accountable by anyone. They dont fall under anyone, They don't answer to anyone. They make up their own rules. Your health is your life. And you give people money, and think, this is the smart thing to do, when I get sick, I'll be okay. I can do to doctor/hospital and I'll be okay. Not, with this company, with this company you're not getting any cover. And here I was about to compare it to a savings plan, atleast with that you can and will get your money back. With this, you're putting your money on a roulette table. But it's more like russian roulette because it's your health and well-being at stake. I don't know how these people can do this, it's inhuman and a violation. I digress. I went to social media after the hospital visit was denied. And requested to cancel. On 3 occasions. Which were all ignored. And then this morning. They debitted my account again.
