Shocking response and service
This is my first time saying something on Hello Peter, then you should know it's bad!!!
I have been with Essential Med for almost 2 years now and have never requested a specialist t visit or any sort of operation.
I went to the doctor yesterday, he advised me that my Hernia came back after 8 years. I then called Essential group to enquiry about the procedures for seeing the specialist and a potential small operation.
They then advised me that I never advised them about t pre existing condition( I didn't even remember I had, or have had, it only came back now)and that they will NOT cover it. I would have to way 2 years to qualify!
I have been on the FULL BOOST for almost 2 years now, and not once requested something small like this.
I really don't feel safe at this stage, feels like I have wasted so much money on something I now don't believe in.
I'm seriously unhappy, feeling disrespected and taken advantage of.
I'm seriously on the verge of going to another Medical Aid after this bad service.

You joined Essential Med the 1st of August 2013 but on the 1st of December 2013 we did not received a premium nor on the 1st of January 2014. Due to the skipped premiums this affected your policy. Waiting periods was reinstated.
When you joined Essential Med Medical questions was asked regarding history around known conditions. You answered no to all questions. This meaning that you did not disclose any information regarding the hernia. A hernia you had 8 years ago is prior to joining Essential med which makes it a pre-existing condition therefor your policy is now underwritten with a 24 months exclusion.
