No Joy at all
My husband is the member and I am the dependent,we asked to nominate our GP which after we recieved this email, Hi Chantelle Also applicable on Dr's CT Mkhawana and SD Makamu practice (Pr. ********** ) PAMC confirmed with me on 25th October 2017 commencement date on Essential Med Doctors Network since 6th October 2017. Please inform Essential Med member/s regarding the above. This year early I got very ill and went that doctor to consult which was my first consultation on the insurance to my surprise the Dr is not on the netwek,the state i was in couldnt allow me to go to another doctor so I had to now pat R700.I emailed Chantelle Pedro because I need clarification who said my query has been submitted.ever since whenever I email to do follow up I don't get any response and I copy Taryn-Leigh Carels and Cheunei Swartz in all the emails but either of them responds.This is so so heart breaking because I only need to know why they said the doctor is on the network but they were lying.What are we paying for monthly if we will again pay cash for consultation I seem to believe now that Essential Med is a no go area if you need peace of mind.

Thank you for bringing your concerning matter under our attention.
Upon investigation the following was established.
We were informed by Dr Makamu that they are practicing in the Casualty Unit in the Lakeview Netcare Hospital and that members needs to follow the hospital procedure in order the practice to render a service. Our network department have requested the practice to reconsider the network and they advised that they will speak to the Hospital Management in order for the members to make direct contact with the practice for appointments, however the members still needs to open a file in order for the practice to see patients on the network.
The provider confirmed that they will charge the schemem rates, however they include code 0146 on all claims as they are practicing on an Emergency basis. The practice is situated on the Benoni area.
Unfortunately it was a mutual agreement between Essential Med and the Administrators to removed the practice from the network as there is 12 other providers in the said area.
Essential Med members should rather be reverted to a normal contracted practice in the area.

Dr was on the network of providers. The contract was terminated with the provider as they did not want to stay within the signed contract they had with PAMC.
This was a mutual decision between Essential med and the administrators. There is 12 providers in the area that you can make use of.
