FALSE ADVERTISING & NOT KEEPING TO THEIR WORD
<p>So I was a member a couple of years with Essential Med then I had to change medical aids due to work. I signed back again 01 March 2017 as they were helpful in the past. I came from another medical insurance and on their website stated that if you are moving from 1 medical insurance to another the waiting periods will not be reapp****. So since March its been back & forth regardint this because now a 24 months waiting period is app****. I brought it to Essential Med and all of a sudden it was removed from their website. Now I am being penalized for their error, all feedback I am getting is that it was an error. I am not happy as if wasnt for me they wouldnt have removed. No one is answering why me as I client I am being penalized for thie error. THIS IS FALSE ADVERTISING, THEY NEED TO KEEP THEIR WORK </p> <p> </p>

Upon investigation it was established that the information is as follows:
The waiting period for Dread Disease is 12 months but the any pre existing condition is a 24 months exclusion. Your policy have been endorsed for the condition that you signed up with.
The waiting periods that is referred to is if a member signs up from another Medical Aid or Medical Health Insurance that we look at the benefits the member had with the other Medical Aid or Medical Health insurance and based on this they will decide if the waiting period will be move to 30 days for all benefits and then 12 months for Dread Disease.

I received feedback that:
"We are very sorry that the agreed terms and conditions were not conveyed correctly to the relevant department. The waiting periods has now been waived except for Dread Disease, which will remain for 12 months."
This makes no sense becasue I have hypertension, I can be hospitalized for high blood pressue but not for stroke (dread desease) which is the after effect of high blood pressure.
And I repeat again, please advise where on the sreen shot taken 28 March does it state T&C regarding dread desease? It states Essential Med will not reapply the waiting periods and I have sent letters from my previous medical insurance.
Please advise, I have spoken to one of your consultant but I am waiting for feedback regarding this
