EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED

After being clients for almost 3 years, I am very disappointed. On 03 July 2023 I was rushed to the ER having seizures. The Dr on call at the ER stabilised me, ordered blood tests and received the go-ahead from the physician on call, that I be admitted immediately for IV treatment. I was informed today, EssentialMED did not cover: 1. The ER Dr's account Reason given - not a network GP 2. The blood tests - not requested by a network Dr. This is an after hours ER, do EssentialMED really expect that your network GP is going to be present? They only guaranteed R21 000 for admittance. So, why do I pay for Level 3 on both ER and hospital? I was discharged with having to self treat myself for the seizures at home. Money not very well spent. Rather invest in a medical aid. More expensive, but peace of mind.
