Essential Med - Worst Medical Insurance in South Africa

In terms of your policy, you guarantee admission to patients. You negate to provide the hospital with full admission deposit. Elize negotiated with the admission staff to admit the patient subject to her being out the next day by 12H00 or they would request another R20 000 additional deposit.

Elize never informed me of any 24-hour requirement and I'm still waiting for the voice recording.

Will see you at the Ombudsman.

I Can highly advise people to stay away from this ********* and dishonest company.

Not even a single phone call after I requested several times that a senior person gives me call to resolve this matter. Request Elize to escalate my query and even online via their chat facility.

Unprofessional, ********* and not even worth to be called a medical insurance. Take note this is after being a member for close to three years.

They do not pay the dentists, doctors, most accounts are handed over to collection companies before they decide to pay. The doctor network is a joke. In the three years, we had to change doctors 4-5 times as the doctors refuse to accept Essential Med.

Why is no one phoning me back, I've left 4 messages since Friday? Your staff arranged that the patient needs to be out by 12H00 the next day otherwise they need an additional deposit of R20,000.
Please let someone phone me back so we can sort out this matter.
