Essential Med refusing to honor GOP
After my son broke his wrist and required therapy, I went to great lengths to ensure we could afford the necessary treatment. I submitted a full quote for therapy to Essential Med, and based on this, a Guarantee of Payment (GOP) for R3500 was issued. This GOP was agreed upon before proceeding with any therapy.
Additionally, I verified with your claims department before each subsequent visit that further appointments would be covered up to R2000. This was explicitly confirmed by your team.
It is shocking and utterly unacceptable that Essential Med is now refusing to honor the GOP of R3500, citing it as an “error” in an email to me. Is this supposed to be my problem? A GOP is a formal agreement, and to now deny it undermines the trust and confidence clients place in your company.
This situation is deeply distressing and raises serious questions about how Essential Med values its clients and their well-being. Is it standard practice to renege on agreed payments and dismiss clients’ valid claims with such disregard?
I demand an immediate review of this matter and the honoring of the R3500 GOP, as well as clarification on how this so-called “error” was allowed to occur in the first place.
