Shifting the warranty

I bought a Asus wireless ADSL router from Esquire Technologies and supp**** it to my client in April 2015.
This product was selected on the grounds that it have a 3 year warranty.
The item ceases to work on the ADSL side and Telcom was contacted to check if the fault was on their side, and they gave the line 100% working clearance.
The item was given in at Esquire warranty department for processing.
Esquire maintain that they will contact Asus in America for approval of the claim and after approval, 2 weeks , they will only process the claim.
What is the use of a warranty if the company just shifts the warranty and my client must now sit with 2 weeks without internet connection.
Surely Esquire must honour the warranty and after testing to confirm the defect must either repair it or supply a new one.

Hello Mr Jordaan,

We would like to confirm that you brought in the Asus DSL-N10 unit on the 02/03/2016 , which was tested and found to be damaged by lightning or a power surge , under normal circumstance this would be warranty void , however we were waiting for an approval from Asus HQ to give us the go ahead to replace or repair the unit.

We are please inform you that the unit has been repaired and awaiting collection on our warranties collection department. One of my team members in the warranties department has already been in contact with since yesterday to inform you that the item is ready for collection.

Please Note: The Asus DSL-N10 has been repaired and tested in under 5 working days which is normally the time it takes to repair any item and put the item through a Quality Control Process when we have the spares parts, but can sometimes take up to 14 days when spare parts have to be imported, in this case we did have the spare part in stock.
